itbelongsto.me is lost-and-found for everything you own. Each owner gets a public
page at `https://itbelongsto.me/{handle}` that works as a link-in-bio day to day.
One QR code resolves to that page; print it as many times as you like, or order
waterproof vinyl stickers. A finder scans, describes what they found, and sends a
message — no account, no app, nothing to install. Contact details stay hidden
unless the owner chooses to share them.

## How it works

1. Claim a handle (e.g. `https://itbelongsto.me/maya`): https://itbelongsto.me/start
2. Print the QR code at home or order sticker packs — one code, unlimited copies.
3. A finder scans it and messages you through an anonymous relay. Turn on Lost Mode
   with a reward whenever you need it; the page reorders itself around recovery
   while the printed sticker never changes.

- Pro ($29/year): everything in Free, plus SMS alerts, scan analytics, custom domain, Lost Mode rewards.
- Sticker packs ($12–25 per pack): waterproof vinyl, dishwasher-safe, any mix of styles.

## Trust and safety

- Anonymous relay: finders see a first name and a message box; numbers stay hidden unless shared.
- Coarse location: city-level by default; photos have location data stripped automatically.
- Pause anytime: turn off incoming messages first; rotating the code is a last resort.
- Kid-safe posture: kids' stickers route to a parent's page; a child's name is never shown.

## For finders (no account needed)

Found something with a sticker? Open `https://itbelongsto.me/{handle}` (the handle
is printed beside the QR) and describe what you found. You can add a contact and a
city-level location so the owner can thank you. If the page says Lost Mode is on,
the reward and last-seen details are at the top.

## Notes

- Creator profile pages exist per handle but are intentionally NOT listed here;
  enumerating every handle would be a privacy problem. Resolve a printed handle
  directly at `https://itbelongsto.me/{handle}`.
- The canonical URL is always the HTML page. Markdown variants are faithful
  reformats of the same content, never a separate index.
